Peer Review / Quality Assurance

Medico-legal investigation systems are under scrutiny.  A recent documentary by FRONTLINE on PBS revealed the variability in the quality of death investigation systems throughout the country.  Among the reasons cited for this variability was a lack of quality control:  critical review of the work performed within a particular jurisdiction.  ACF Path is developing a new approach to help medico-legal death investigation systems with little experience in this issue meet the quality demands of its jurisdiction.
ACF Path draws on 10 years of experience in peer review in anatomic, clinical, and forensic pathology developing quality assurance programs ranging in size from small labs to worldwide death investigation systems. With constant monitoring of the pertinent literature and positions of the relevant professional societies such as the College of American Pathologists and National Association of Medical Examiners ACF Path is familiar with the standards applied to the forensic autopsy and medico-legal investigation.  Whether the need requires a review of a single case or a fully developed quality assurance program ACF Path can provide the services to ensure quality work for your jurisdiction.
